Beautiful Restored Vintage True Temper Tommy Axe Single Bit Camp Axe Hatchet with Claw Poll.

The True Temper Tommy Axe is a distinctive mid-20th-century American tool that blends the utility of a hatchet with that of a carpenter’s hammer. First marketed around 1939–1940, it became a staple of the "True Temper" brand, which was the trade name for the American Fork & Hoe Co.

This particular axe was produced in the very beginning of production before True Temper had given it a part number. Later models are stamped “No. TA”.

The original handle, that starts off octagonal near the head and tampers into oval, is in great shape and secure to the head. The overall length is 15”. The double bit head measures 5-3/4” in length and 3-3/4” width at bit. It weighs in at 2 lbs. 5 oz.
