Vintage Norlund Canadian Axe – Original Handle – Restored & Ready to Use
For sale is a vintage Norlund Canadian pattern axe featuring what appears to be its original handle and classic wide-bit profile. A beautiful example of a sought-after outdoorsman’s axe from the golden era of North American toolmaking.
Originally produced by the Mann Edge Tool Company in Lewistown, Pennsylvania between the late 1960s and mid-1980s, Norlund axes developed a cult following among campers, bushcrafters, woodsmen, and collectors alike. Inspired by Scandinavian edge geometry and traditional North American handle patterns, the Norlund Canadian (often called the “Canadienne”) became one of the brand’s most iconic designs.
This piece carries the unmistakable Norlund character:
• Original aged patina on the head
• Clean vintage stamp
• Gorgeous slim original wooden handle with rich grain
• Lightweight, fast Canadian pattern profile ideal for limbing, camp work, and collection display.
The axe has been cleaned and preserved while maintaining its authentic vintage character. It presents beautifully and would make an excellent addition to any axe collection, cabin décor setup, bushcraft kit, or vintage tool wall.
