Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Bull Mask Folk Art Painted Ox Cow Head Wall Hanging Horned Animal Decor

Striking vintage hand-carved wooden bull or ox mask featuring wonderfully expressive eyes, tall curved horns, oversized ears and elaborate carved decoration.

This unusual folk art piece has been hand painted in an aged palette of cream, deep red, green, black and gold/yellow. The carved ornamental details surrounding the eyes and forehead give it a dramatic, almost ceremonial appearance.

The mask is carved from wood and has wonderful handmade character throughout. The back retains a metal hanger for wall display.

A fantastic statement piece for a folk art collection, eclectic gallery wall, global-inspired interior, maximalist décor or collection of unusual carved masks.

PLEASE NOTE CONDITION:
There is a prominent vertical age crack/split in the wood, visible through the center of the forehead and continuing along the back/lower portion of the mask. This is clearly shown in the photographs. There is also age-related paint loss, surface wear, scuffing, discoloration and other imperfections throughout.

Despite the crack, the mask remains a wonderfully decorative piece with loads of character and patina.

No maker's mark or country-of-origin marking was found.
